DORMANCY 

SEED COAT DORMANCY

         Predominant with the family of, 

                     1.Leguminaceae

                     2.Malvaceae

                     3.Cannaceae

                     4.Convolvulaceae  

•   For fruits like 🥭 Mango (STONE FRUIT) the seed coat is impermeable to WATER AND AIR.

** So that in such fruits there will be no fruit expansion **.

RUDIMENTARY EMBRYO 

Rudimentary embryo

    Such type of inactive embryo is more confined with,

                       1.Flex sp.

                       2.Pinus sp.

                       3.Viburnum sp.

                       4.Palm

                       5.Orchids

Immature embryo falls from the Plant,but it doesn't germinate as it is IMMATURE**

CHEMICAL INHIBITORS

•    Chemicals(TOXINS) prevent germination

   If got imbibed by Water 💧, toxins gets released ,thus favoring perfect germination.

INTERNAL FACTORS

Auxin

•  Plant growth hormones like ,AUXIN GIBBERELLIN,CYTOKININ  are growth promoters,while ETHYLENE,ABA are growth retardants.

Gibberellins 

•  Some fruits like 🍎 APPLE,PLUM, PEAR,PEACH,ROSES needs low temeperate to initiate flowering.Thus it requires MOIST/CHILLING TREATMENT. 

DOUBLE DORMANCY 

  A combo of both SEEDCOAT DORMANCY AND RUDIMENTARY DORMANCY**.

  EXAMPLE:Cercis occidentalis.
