SPECIALIZED STRUCTURES OF HONEY BEES: 
MOUTH PARTS:Chewing and lapping



















ANTENNA:Geniculate
HIND LEG OF WORKER BEES:Pollen Basket/Corbiculata
ABDOMEN:Stings

GLANDS:
1.Hypopharyngeal gland (1pair)
2.Mandibular gland (1pair)
3.Wax gland(4pairs)
4.Poison sac 

HYPOPHARYNGEAL GLAND:
       Anterio Dorsal region of HEAD.
       Long coiled chain like structure .
       Produces ROYAL JELLY, for SEX DETERMINATION.
       At 2nd  week it gets fully developed.

MANIDUBULAR GLANDS:
     1 pair present at the base of MANDIBLE.
     QUEEN SUBSTANCE IS PRODUCED FROM THE MANDIBULAR GLANDS.
     USES OF QUEEN SUBSTANCE:
        1.Maintain colony COHESION
        2.Prevent Swarming and absconding.
        3.Have control over the reproductive  ability of worker bees.

WAX GLAND:
      4 Pairs  of WAX GLAND on the VENTRAL SIDE OF BODY.
     That is at 4,5,6,7 segment.
     It is an OVAL polished area ,with a WAX PLATE/WAX MIRROR.
    
POISON GLANDS:
     1 pair  of POISON GLAND, with a central VENOM CANAL, surrounded by a pair of  LANCETS,  and  1 stylet.
    The VENOM sac consist of FORMIC ACID.

STINGS:
    A sting  is actually a short needle with POISON, thus releasing PHEROMONE, which acts as an ALARM.
