Sericulture is the mass rearing of silkworm for production of silk.
SILK

- Natural protein fibre composed of fibroin and sericin.
- Produced by certain larva(lepidopterous) to form coccons.
- 95% produced from mulberry silkworm
TYPES OF SILKWORM:
1.Mulberry silkworm-bombyx mori

2.Non Mulberry silkworm
Eri silkworm (Samia ricini)

Tasar silkworm (Antheraea mylitta)
